Thank you for Giving the Gift of Learning Through Art

FCCPL  launched an end-of-the-year 2021 campaign to fundraise for a new collection of library materials to support the arts.

We continue to build on that campaign; donate today to foster creativity, learning and to build the community’s knowledge of the arts. Your donation will help build a new collection of books and library materials for artists of all ages. A donation of $30 will purchase approximately one art book or item.

Traditional categories of art include painting, drawing, sculpture, furniture design, mosaics, music composition, photography, theatre, dance, architecture, interior design, textiles and much more! This collection will inspire community members to explore and learn about these media.

Why art?

  • Art brings joy
  • Art illuminates and reflects the culture
  • Art strengthens community bonds
  • Art helps us see the world from different perspectives
  • Art can have a positive impact on mental health
  • Art helps us to communicate with other people
  • Art brings people together and embraces diversity
  • Art allows people to uniquely express themselves

Give the Gift of Art! Donate today to inspire creativity for yourself and others.

October 2020 – The Friends of the Chesterfield County Public Library invited community members–Moms, Dads, caregivers, every Chesterfield County adult who loves reading picture books– to submit photos that clearly represent the concept of “reading and enjoying a picture book”.  A picture book is a book written for children that heavily relies on pictures to help tell the story, but may also include words.

Select photos will be featured in the launch of the Friends’ upcoming Children’s Picture Book fundraiser and the 50th Anniversary for the Friends of the Chesterfield County Public Library! The goal of the campaign is to refresh or replenish 1,000 picture books for the Chesterfield libraries.

The Friends wish to represent the diversity of the Chesterfield community in this fundraiser campaign, and encourage individuals and families of all backgrounds, cultures, and configurations to submit photos.

The deadline for submitting photos is 10/24/20 by 11:59 p.m. EST. Photos can be submitted by emailing them to president@chesterfieldfriends.org or via the Friends’ Facebook messenger. Please click here to read more!
