The Friends of the Chesterfield County Public Library are thrilled to announce the return of Movie Night with a new twist: a celebration of Virginia’s vibrant independent film scene!
What to Expect:
  • This is program for adults to enjoy curated films created by talented and up and coming Virginia filmmakers.
  • Each screening will feature a special Q&A session with the filmmaker, offering a unique opportunity to hear behind-the-scenes stories and ask your questions directly.
  • All films showcased are independently produced, highlighting the creativity and diversity of our local film community.
  • Snacks, drinks, and light food options will be available.  Donations are accepted.
  • Admission is free.
  • Parking is free.
  • Bring your friends for an inspiring night of film, conversation, and community. Whether you’re a movie lover, a supporter of the arts, or simply curious about Virginia’s filmmaking talent, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
  • Donations are gratefully accepted to help the Friends support future library programs and events.

Virginia Filmmakers Movie Night – November 2025

The four films:
Put Him Down (16 minutes): When a struggling couple push each other to the edge, they take matters into their own hands.
Triggers: murder, pet death.
Samsara (22 minutes): Pearl has not moved on since Howard’s death, but a chance encounter with a stranger challenges her belief about life and love.

Neco’s Basement (11 minutes): Sometimes first impressions are accurate and you actually should judge a book by its cover.
Triggers: Murder, Stalking, Flashing lights

Steve’s Killer Quota (10 minutes):  When inept serial killer Steve MacDonald doesn’t meet his cult’s quota, he’s placed on probation until he bags a significant kill. So Steve plots his next move to return to the good graces of his peers — and also his buddy’s tasty ribs.
